ACOUSTIC PERFORMER’S CONTEST
RULES
Performers:

Each performer will play 3 songs or 15-minute sets, at their decision. Finals will be 45-minute sets

10 acts per week; alternates may be allowed, as time permits

Acoustic music only (i.e. 6/12 string guitars, mandolins, etc.); no effect pedals, drum machines, background accompaniment, no drum kits. Hand drums are acceptable (i.e. bongos, congas, djembes). Electric bass is acceptable, unless that's the only instrument you're playing. Electric pianos must be set to "acoustic" piano mode.

No more than 5 members per act

You may only enter as a performer once a night (i.e.: no signing up as a member of multiple acts)

Weekly preliminary winners cannot re-enter during following preliminary weeks

Original music only – no cover music allowed

Sign-ups are at 7 p.m. each week on a first-come, first-served basis – night of the contest only

Acts in the Finals must remain the same as when they won their preliminary week (i.e.: no adding musicians or instrumentation for the Finals)

Weekly preliminary winners must be present at the end of the night and prepared to perform one encore song

Past, Grand Prize winners are excluded from entering the contest

Open to all genres of music
Judging:

The first four Tuesdays, a winner will be chosen to play in the finals; the fifth Tuesday, the grand prize winner will be chosen

If you're not chosen as a weekly, preliminary winner one week, you may come back every week, thereafter

Judging will be in the following categories:
o Stage Presence
o Musicianship
o Songwriting
o Overall Performance

Order of performance in the finals will be drawn that night
Other:

The LVAPC reserves the right to use your name and likeness for free and with no editorial restrictions in conjunction with promoting and advertising the event
